Rhyming Words

June 18th, 2017

This week we will be continuing a rhyming string and using rhyming words in our writing.

Listen to our story ‘The flying Bath’. Can you hear any rhyming words?

In our maths we will continue with doubling and halving and working on your child’s next steps.
If you notice your child doing something fantastic at home please remember to fill out a parent comment slip.

Thank you for your continued support – you are helping your child reach their potential.

Welcome back!

June 7th, 2017

We hope you all had a lovely half term and it was lovely to see you all back on Monday.

This half term our topic is ‘Our Wonderful World’. Within this topic we will be exploring the world around us, how to keep the world a clean place and how to look after our world.

During this half term we will be going on a school trip to ‘Fairburn Ings’ in Castleford. We will be pond dipping, exploring the woods and the habitats of animals and exploring a range of┬áplants and trees.

We will be handing out the letter at some point this week to give you the information you need for the trip.

If you have any further questions then please come and ask your child’s class teacher.

Thank you.

Reception team.

Tadpole’s Promise

May 10th, 2017

Over the past 2 weeks we have been reading the key text ‘Tadpole’s Promise’ and we have been talking about the characters feelings from the story and writing sentences to describe them.
We have been looking at the life cycle of a frog and a butterfly and describing the changes that occur.
On Monday our own class caterpillars arrived at school and we have been observing them ready to see them make a cocoon and finally grow into butterflies!

Welcome back!

April 26th, 2017

In Maths, we will be learning to sequence events, tell the time and say 1 more and 1 less than a given number.
There will also be lots of problem solving and challenges!
